Answers to common questions about Kite.
Are lessons in person?

Tutoring lessons take place online by video. Shadowing, volunteering, research and jobs are separate listings and say whether they’re in person.

Are the school requirements official?

Checked requirements link to the school’s official source and show the date checked. Programs we haven’t checked say “Not yet verified”. Always confirm with the school, and remember your completed courses are student-reported.

Does this guarantee admission?

No. This is planning guidance, not formal university advising or an admissions decision.

How do I get the video link?

After a tutor accepts your booking, they add a secure meeting link to the booking page in your dashboard. Kite doesn’t create meeting links itself yet.

What’s the difference between single, recurring and semester bookings?

A single lesson is one session. Recurring lessons repeat weekly or every two weeks for a set number of lessons. A semester plan covers a whole term. You see every date and the total price before sending the request.

Can I cancel or reschedule?

Yes, following the tutor’s policy shown on their profile and your booking. Cancelling inside the free-cancellation window is marked as a late cancellation. Rescheduling is available until the tutor’s reschedule cut-off; after that, message your tutor.

How do assignments work?

Tutors post assignments to a class or a student. Open one from your dashboard, add a typed response, files or links, review what you’re turning in and confirm. You’ll see feedback and grades when your tutor returns it. If your tutor allows it, you can unsubmit and change your work until it’s returned.

What if work is late?

Assignments past their due date show as Missing. Some tutors accept late work — it’s then marked late. If late work isn’t accepted, message your tutor.

How do payments work?

Online payments and tutor payouts aren’t connected yet. Bookings are saved as requests and no card is charged. When payments are set up, the price, platform fee and payment status will be shown on every booking.

Are tutor credentials verified?

Not yet. Education and experience are written by the tutor. Kite never labels credentials as verified without a real check.

How do I report a problem?

Use “Report this profile” on any tutor profile, or the report option in a conversation. Reports are private.

Who can see my information?

Public pages show tutor profiles only. Students’ names appear to their tutors as first name and last initial. Messages, bookings, assignments and grades are visible only to the student and tutor involved.
